PAIC Submits Public Comment to ACIP Supporting Transparent, Evidence-Based Vaccine Policy
The Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition (PAIC) recently submitted public comments to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) emphasizing the importance of maintaining transparent, evidence-based vaccine policy. In the letter, PAIC highlights growing public concern about declining trust in federal health agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and urges ACIP to continue using established scientific processes when evaluating vaccines and making recommendations.
PAIC calls for adherence to the committee’s charter and the continued use of the GRADE and Evidence-to-Recommendations methodologies to ensure decisions remain transparent, consistent, and grounded in science. The coalition also stresses the importance of evaluating current vaccines using verified clinical data and considering the evidence that vaccination helps prevent serious outcomes such as myocarditis from infection and long COVID.
Through this public comment, PAIC reaffirmed its mission to support recommended, age-appropriate immunizations for all Pennsylvanians and emphasized that clear, science-based vaccine guidance is essential to maintaining public trust and protecting communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.
