Montgomery County Immunization Coalition (MCIC)

Our Coalition, founded in July 2003, consists of a group of dedicated individuals representing various Montgomery County Health & Human Services offices including Public Health and Senior Services, as well as school, hospital, non-profit, pharmaceutical companies, and community representatives across Montgomery County. Our mission is to promote age-appropriate immunizations across the lifespan for all residents of Montgomery County. We like to think of our coalition as “the public and private sectors working together for better immunization coverage and practices.”

#ItCanHappenToAnybody Flu Campaign

MCIC is excited to announce our #ItCanHappenToAnybody Flu Campaign. We partnered with Families Fighting Flu (FFF), a national, nonprofit, advocacy organization dedicated to protecting families and communities against the flu. FFF includes families whose loved ones have suffered serious medical complications or died from the flu. They share their family stories to put a face to the flu and they aim to save lives to prevent more stories.

Our #ItCanHappenToAnybody Flu Campaign is centered around Amanda’s story. Montgomery County native Alissa’s life changed 20 years ago when her daughter Amanda was 4 years old. Amanda seemed to have a typical virus, but within 48 hours, she died suddenly from the flu. In the short video, Alissa shares her story and how important it is to get your family vaccinated.

Homebound COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine

At-Home COVID-19 & Flu Vaccines

The Montgomery County Homebound Vaccine Program offers the COVID-19 & Flu vaccine to residents who are confined to their home and have health insurance. This program is through the collaboration between the Montgomery County Immunization Coalition (MCIC) and the Montgomery County Office of Public Health. Eric’s RX Shoppe and Skippack Pharmacy administer the vaccines.

In mid-August, information on how to set up a vaccination appointment for a homebound COVID-19 and/or flu vaccine will be added to this page.

Adults Need Vaccines, Too!

Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your family from severe disease. MCIC partnered with Montgomery County Office of Public Health to create a new flyer – Adults Need Vaccines, Too! – to help you educate and outreach to your communities on the importance of adult vaccinations

Do you have parents looking for free or low cost vaccines in Montgomery County? MCIC partnered with OPH and ACLAMO to update their SHOTS FOR TOTS flyers to share with your communities. (English, Spanish)

NEW Flu and COVID-19 Vaccine Flyer for Children!

With flu and COVID-19 circulating, it is crucial to keep our children protected. Both vaccines are safe, effective, and can be given at the same time.

Thanks to the California Department of Public Health, they have given us permission to modify their new Flu and COVID-19 Vaccine Flyer for Children for us to use in our community education and outreach. Please share within your networks!

MEDIA CAMPAIGNS
Montgomery County Immunization Coalition (MCIC), Montgomery County, and Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition (PAIC) are excited to share that we held a COVID-19 Vaccine Bus Campaign. This phase focused on encouraging 20- through 30-year-olds in the Black community to get their COVID-19 booster. Buses were wrapped in bright-colored advertising with positive design elements and the campaign message is reinforced with interior bus ads. Ads also ran on platform digital displays at our Lansdale & Fort Washington Stations.

MCIC launches Phase 2 of Let’s Get Back to Us” bus campaign
Montgomery County Immunization Coalition launched the second phase of it’s “Let’s Get Back to Us” bus campaign. Phase 2 focuses on encouraging parents of 5 to 11 year olds to get their children vaccinated, allowing them to safely do more of the activities they enjoy, like attending birthday parties, playing sports, and spending time indoors with friends and family members. Buses are wrapped in bright-colored advertising with positive design elements and the campaign message is reinforced with interior bus ads. The ads will run February through May.

LaShonda and Kaiden COVID-19 Vaccine Story

MCIC teamed up with Made to Save to create a 45-second video in which a Mom helped her son get vaccinated to protect him, and their older, high-risk family members from COVID-19. Share this important video within your networks!

MCIC continues to host virtual COVID-19 Town Halls with their partner organizations to answer your questions and concerns about the vaccine. Recordings of all of our town halls are available at bit.ly/MCICtownhall

MCIC partnered with Made to Save to provide a FREE online training on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 7-8pm to learn how to initiate and engage in effective conversations about COVID-19 vaccines in online communities.

The online training covered digital storytelling, identifying existing online networks to engage with, dealing with misinformation and disinformation, and best practices for guiding vaccine conversations. Click here to listen to the recording (Passcode: 40R0J&0@).
